TYSKLAND MINNS FLYKTINGOFFREN VID DE ÖSTTYSKA GRÄNSERNA

October 16, 2014

SECRETIVE US MINI-SHUTTLE ENDING 22-MONTH MISSION

October 15, 2014

NewsMax on October 12, 2014, published a Thomson/Reuters report on the U.S. military plans to land its secretive X-37B robotic space plane in California on October 14, ending a classified 22-month mission, officials said.
Excerpts below:

The exact time and date will depend on weather and technical factors, the Air Force said in a statement released on Friday. The X-37B space plane, also known as the Orbital Test Vehicle, blasted off for its second mission aboard an unmanned Atlas 5 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida on Dec. 11, 2012.

The 29-foot-long (9-meter) robotic spaceship, which resembles a miniature space shuttle, is an experimental vehicle that first flew in April 2010. It returned after eight months. A second vehicle blasted off in March 2011 and stayed in orbit for 15 months.

The military has said the vehicles, built by Boeing, are designed to test technologies, though details of the missions are classified.

RAK HÖGER FRÅN TAIWANS PRESIDENT – GER FULLT STÖD TILL DEMONSTRANTERNA I HONGKONG

October 14, 2014

Center for Research on Geopolitics (Sverige) tog 2003 upp frågan i en rapport med nedanstående innehåll:

Introduction

The question of a federally organized China is one that is of some interest in the future.
The following scenario is of course only a start. After all China is one of the world’s biggest stories. It is easy to forget that there are two Chinese states at present and that the 23 million citizens of the Republic of China on Taiwan have as much rights as the 1,2 billion Chinese and other peoples on the mainland.

Constitution

A federal constitution of a future China should be based on division of power. It could have some of the following general provisions:

Chapter I. General Provisions

Article 1.
The Republic of China shall be a democratic and federal republic of the people, to be governed by the people and for the people.

Article 2.
The Sovereignty of the Federal Republic of China shall reside in the whole body of citizens.

Article 3. Persons possessing the nationality of the Federal Republic of China shall reside in the whole body of citizens.

Article 4.
The territory of the Republic of China according to its national boundaries shall not be altered except by resolution of the National Congress.

Article 5.
There shall be equality among the various racial groups in the Federal Republic of China.

Article 6.
The national flag of the Federal Republic of China shall be of red ground with blue sky and seven white stars for each state.

The above mentioned articles could be the first possible articles of a constitution for a federal China.

There ought to be 7 states: The State of Taiwan, The State of South China, The State of Central China, The State of North China, The State of Saipei, The State of Northeast China and the State of West China with their own governments and parliaments in the federal system.

Flag

In the present flag of the Republic of China on Taiwan there is a White Sun in the emblem representing the 12 two-hour periods of the day. Together they represent the spirit of progress.

This White Sun could be replaced by 7 white stars representing the 7 states of the federation.
Some Conclusions

The possible scenario presented above could be a matrix of a new China. A Federal China would loosen, but not fragment, and central power would not reside in the federal capital itself only. The new constitution could only work in a free environment allowing for free elections for a constitutional congress to work out a new constitution.

Naturally such a congress must be preceded by a diplomatic recognition of the Republic of China by all states as an independent and sovereign nation.

The earlier a debate on the future of China and its constitution is started, the better. In a modern world a communist ruled great power is an anomaly. This short report is to be regarded as one contribution of many to the debate on the future of China.

The problem with China historically was well described by Karl Wittfogel in his bok “Oriental Despotism” (1957). China was a farming society based on irrigation. There was a strong tendency for an organizational structure of waterworks. The consequence was ‘a state stronger than society’. The despotic power was and is total. For the individual it meant ‘total terror – total submission – total loneliness. What is now needed is “total change”, not reform of the Chinese Communist Party, but introduction of new thinking, the type of thinking that has brought Free China the prosperity it now has.

The military threat of the regime in Beijing to the United States, the West and Taiwan is continuing. As long as the threat continues there is little or no hope for a future China organized in a federal system.

ÖKAD MAKT TILL NYA REGIONER !

October 12, 2014

1. Region Norrland (Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Jämtland, Västernorrland)
2. Region Uppland (Gävleborg, Dalarna, Uppsala, Västmanland, Örebro, Sörmland)
3. Region Stockholm
4. Region Västra Götaland (Värmland, Västra Götaland)
5. Region Södra Götaland (Östergötland, Jönköping, Kalmar)
6. Region Skåne (Kronoberg, Blekinge, Skåne)
7. Region Gotland
8. Region Halland

PSYCHO-POLITICAL WAR:US OFFICIALS BATTLE TO COUNTER ISIS MEDIA ARM

October 11, 2014

FoxNews on October 11, 2014, reported on the US psycho-political warfare against ISIS. Excerpts below:

While U.S. fighter jets wage a battle against the Islamic State from the air, the terror network with aims of establishing its own caliphate is waging a battle for followers — over the airwaves.

America’s point person for countering Islamic State, or ISIS, propaganda said this week that the militant group now has seven TV stations in two major cities in Iraq and Syria. This, on top of the robust social media operation ISIS already is well known for, is posing a steep challenge for western officials trying to chop off the tentacles of the group’s media ops monster.

Alberto Fernandez, coordinator of the State Department’s Center for Strategic Counterterrorism Communications (CSCC), explained how ISIS, also known as ISIL, is using its outreach to bolster recruitment.

“ISIL controls five TV stations in Mosul and two in Raqqah [Syria],” he said at an event earlier this week. As ISIS militants ravage towns, execute soldiers and behead journalists, Fernandez said that from the Islamic State’s perspective, still, “media is more than half the battle.”

The office Fernandez runs was established in September 2010 to “coordinate government-wide public communications activities directed at audiences abroad … against terrorist organizations,” according to the State Department.

“There is a Mount Everest of radicalization material and only a foothill of counter-propaganda,” Fernandez said.

In July 2014, ISIS launched a new TV channel called “Dabiq,” stationed in the Iraqi city of Mosul, according to Baghdad-based Almasalah.com. It also was reported that ISIS had started an Arabic and English electronic newspaper under the same name. ISIS based the name “Dabiq” on a decisive victory by the Ottoman Empire over the Mamluk Sultanate, based in Cairo, during the Ottoman-Mamluk War in the early 16th Century. The Ottoman Empire’s victory in this battle gave it control of the entire Syria region.

Given this growth, U.S. officials say ISIS has made media a major part of its campaign plan, and the United States must aggressively counter the message.

“[ISIS has] very slick social media and very slick propaganda,” Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said on October 9 in Washington, D.C. But he warned that the danger from ISIS’ media operation is not limited to Iraq and Syria. He said he’s also concerned about U.S.-based “lone wolf acts of terror inspired by the social media of [ISIS] groups

… We have seen cases where somebody arrested, prosecuted was motivated by some literature put out by a terrorist organization.”

Fernandez, who spoke at George Washington University, lamented that “it is difficult to match” ISIS propaganda like its recent 55-minute “Flames of War” video. “It really draws on young people’s emotions,” and there are many more “ISIS fan boys” and “knights of the upload” who help spread their ideology, he said.

Fernandez’ unit has tried to battle the message with its own videos. The team produced the scathing “Welcome to the Islamic State land” and released it in August 2014 as a way to “contest the space” of jihadist propaganda.

“Run – do not walk to ISIS Land,” the video implores viewers. The video, which includes graphic images, sarcastically tells recruits they can learn “useful new skills” — like “blowing up mosques” and “crucifying and executing Muslims.”

It has generated close to 800,000 views on YouTube worldwide, and is part of the State Department’s “Think Again Turn Away” campaign.

Fernandez said the “thrill of adventurism [in joining ISIS] looks like the Call of Duty.” The personal testimony seen in well-produced ISIS propaganda films also serves to boost recruitment, he said. “The lack of personal testimony is a challenge to the West,” said Fernandez, who wants to hear more from those that have fought for ISIS but became disenchanted.

One woman did come forward and spoke with CNN recently to tell her story about meeting a Tunisian man on social media pages who convinced her to join an all-female ISIS brigade.

The “Think Again Turn Away” Facebook page lists the most engaged readers as being from Baghdad in the 25-35-year-old demographic. “Our mission is to expose the facts about terrorists and their propaganda,” the page says. While noting the English page has only 8,000 “likes,” Fernandez said there are over 70,000 on its Arabic Facebook page.

To counter the violent ideology of Islamist radicals, Fernandez says he has 15 full-time professionals messaging in Arabic, four in Urdu, two in Somali and two in English.

Fernandez summed up the strategy in 2013: “What we try to do is not to affirm the positive about ourselves but to emphasize the negative about the adversary. It is about offense and not defense. The third goal is to try to unnerve the adversary, to get in their heads.”

BLAST AT IRAN NUKE PLANT PROVES WEAPONS PROGRAM ALIVE, SAYS EXPERTS

October 10, 2014

FoxNews on October 9, 2014, published an article by Paul Alster. The massive blast at an Iranian nuclear plant earlier this week remains shrouded in mystery, reported Alster, but it cleared up one thing, according to those who track the Islamic Republic: The nuclear weapons program Tehran has long denied is real. Excerpts below:

The massive blast rocked buildings more than 10 miles away, and before-and-after satellite images published by the Israel Defense Force showed startling destruction at a facility Iran has repeatedly barred international inspectors from entering.

“[The] images indicate that a complete section of structures was simply eliminated by an unexplained explosion,” IDF analyst Ronen Solomon said. “The explosion wiped several testing units off the face of the earth while inflicting collateral damage on adjacent buildings.”

“The explosion wiped several testing units off the face of the earth while inflicting collateral damage on adjacent buildings.”

Israel has long insisted that Iran’s charm offensive, successful in easing western sanctions, is a ruse to buy time while it pursues nuclear weapons.

“Don’t be fooled by Iran’s manipulative charm offensive,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned the UN General Assembly in New York on Sept. 29. “It’s designed for one purpose and for one purpose only: to lift the sanctions and remove the obstacles to Iran’s path to the bomb.

As in past cases when things explode or scientists are killed in Iran, speculation centers on Israeli intelligence agencies, who, just as predictably, do not comment.

“If someone did succeed in infiltrating the Parchin site with explosives and causing the huge explosion which took place there, we are talking about an exceptional achievement,” regional terror analyst Ronen Bergman suggested at Ynet.com.

Parchin, a site to which international inspectors have repeatedly been denied access since 2007 – a fact that many opponents of the P5+1 talks have long insisted in itself makes a mockery of the so-called negotiation process – is rumored to be the location of the development of the key warhead components required for making a nuclear bomb.

“Western officials suspect that at the heart of this secret development is the weapon group developing the nuclear lens mechanism,” Bergman said. “It’s a complex system of timers and explosives assembled around the core of the bomb, which explode in a way that “pushes” the enriched uranium sphere inwards and starts the chain reaction needed for an atomic explosion.”

The assassination of a series of Iranian nuclear scientists inside Iran in recent years as the result of bombs planted on, or next to their vehicles by mysterious motorcycle-riding hitmen, together with the vicious Stuxnet computer virus that hit Iran’s key Natanz nuclear facility in 2010, has allegedly put the brakes on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear project.

Regime support is also indicated in the September 2013 massacre of at least 52 Iranians in neighbouring Iraq at the Camp Ashraf refugee camp that had been designated a safe haven for Iranian activists, many of whom had opposed the direction of their nation’s nuclear ambitions. U.S. officials were reportedly furious at Iran’s Revolutionary Guard praising the attack, while Foreign Policy magazine reported that, “U.S. intelligence officials believe that Iranian commandos took part [in the attack].”

CHINA HACKING ITS WAY TO SUPERPOWER STATUS

October 9, 2014

NewsMax on October 7, 2014 reported that the U.S. government has linked China to cyber-attacks on major weapons systems and other U.S. entities, and former Defense Department spokesman J.D. Gordon says that the Chinese are using cyber warfare to overtake the U.S. Excerpts below:

“China is trying to overtake the United States militarily, economically, diplomatically and they are trying to be the world’s dominant power,” Gordon told Ed Berliner on “MidPoint” on Newsmax TV.

“One of the ways the Chinese are trying to do that is from cyber warfare,” he explained.

“They’ve been attacking us systematically — they’ve been attacking our military and our industries,” he said.

Gordon says that when he was working “at the Pentagon in 2007, we had a massive outage of an unclassified network and that was due to the Chinese.”

Gordon claims that “every day you see the Chinese hacking more and more.”

“They are stealing secrets from our industries,” he explained. And they “are looking for information to gain technical advantages in space and in any type of program that you can imagine.”

“The Chinese are hacking into us and they are making the most of it,” he added.

The former Defense Department spokesman says that Chinese People’s Liberation Army’s (PLA) cyber warfare units “are attacking us constantly.”

“They are trying to steal information, break into our system and put malware into our emails,” he explained.

However, “it’s not just the Chinese.”

“The North Koreans are attacking us as well, the Russians just attacked JP Morgan — they apparently hacked 83 million accounts, including seven million small business accounts,” he said.

NORTH KOREA’S KIM MOVED ASIDE BY MILITARY?

October 8, 2014

NewsMax on October 7, 2014, reported that North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un, who has not been seen in public for more than a month, is believed to be staying outside Pyongyang, South Korea’s defence chief said. Excerpts below:

“As far as I know, (Kim) is staying at a certain place north of Pyongyang,” Defence Minister Han Min-Koo said when lawmakers visited his office for a regular parliamentary inspection of military affairs, without elaborating on Kim’s whereabouts.

“I have received reliable information from our defense intelligence headquarters,” Han was quoted as saying by the Yonhap news agency. There was no official comment from the defence ministry.

Kim’s absence from the public eye has triggered speculation of a debilitating illness and even rumours of a coup in Pyongyang.

His unexplained absence loomed large over a surprise visit on October 4 by a trio of his top officials and close aides to South Korea.

Before Kim dropped out of sight, footage shown on state TV had shown him walking with a pronounced limp.

Kim, believed to be 30 or 31, is a heavy smoker and has noticeably gained weight since taking over as paramount leader following the death of his father Kim Jong-Il in 2011.

NORTH, SOUTH KOREAN WARSHIPS EXCHANGE WARNING SHOTS

October 7, 2014

Fox News on October 7, 2014, published an AP report on warships from the rival Koreas exchanging warning shots after a North Korean ship briefly violated the disputed western sea boundary, a South Korean defense official said. Excerpts below:

The shots were fired into the sea and there have been no reports of injuries and damage to the ships of either side, the official said on condition of anonymity, citing office policy.

Such exchanges are not uncommon at the sea boundary, the scene of several deadly maritime skirmishes between the Koreas in recent years.

South Korean President Park Geun-hye on October 6 stressed the need to hold high-level talks on a regular basis, saying she hopes North Korea would show how sincere it is about improving ties.

The South Korean official said the North Korean ship was in South Korea-controlled waters for about 10 minutes before it retreated to its waters. He said a South Korea navy ship first broadcast a warning and then fired warning shots before the North Korean ship fired back at waters near the South Korean ship. The South Korean ship returned fire into the sea near the North Korean ship, the official said.

The Korean Peninsula remains at a technical state of war because the Korean War ended with an armistice, not a peace treaty.

(Comment: In the present situation an extensive leaflet campaign is needed against North Korea providing truthful information about ongoing demonstrations in Hongkongagainst the regime in Beijing. It would show to the North Koreans that their is hope for changes in the oppressive marxist-leninist system).

PROFESSOR JOSEPH NYE AND SOFT/SMART POWER IN 2014

October 5, 2014

The inventor of the term soft/smart power, Professor Joseph Nye of Harvard University, is back in the news with comments at Chatham House, UK, on how the fight against islamofascism is following the worldwide struggle against the evil twins nazism and communism.

The basic definition offered by Nye is:

‘Soft power’ works by the force of example, projecting the attractiveness of a nation’s way of life, values, culture, historical experience to gain consensus and legitimacy. Ideally it should deliver specific results in foreign policy, act as an instrument for ‘getting the outcomes you want’.

Now Nye prefers the term ‘smart power’, to express an idea of synthesis between the hard and soft versions that States may deploy in given situations. With muslim terrorists employing hard power in Syria and Iraq and Putin his version in eastern Ukraine it becomes more clear every day that hard power is back in geostrategy and the Democrats in the United States could well have to hand over to the GOP in 2016 when things get tough.

Today the experts think that the sources of power in the world are multiplying, and that force is only one of them. Soft power is more the influence of civilizational influence. There is nothing in the world compared to the civilizational influence of the West in the world. Western civilization is unique.
