Frågan om indoeuropeiska språk väcktes år 2007 till liv i Sverige av Ola Wikander i boken ”Ett träd med vida grenar – de indoeuropeiska språkens historia”. Boken rör sig främst på området språkhistoria. Indoeuropeerna lämnas i stort sett åt sidan, som så ofta i nutidens historieböcker. Bristerna har uppmärksammats på senare och i dag upplever studiet av indoeuropeisk språk, kultur och historia en renässans.
Grekerna, grundarna av demokrati och en äldre aristokratiska kultur, som hyllade heroism. Den senare kom från Mykene. De verkliga heroerna kan ha varit bärarna av ”arete”, (achievement och virtue), män med familjer som vandrade från öst till väst i Asien och Europa. Dessa indoeuropeer kan ha varit de verkliga skaparna av den västliga civilisationen. ”Arete” har samma rot som ”aristos”, som avser de bästa krigarna. Den aristokratiska krigarkulturen har dokumenterats bland annat i Homeros ”Iliaden” och det var människor som levde efter den individuella ärans etik och skapade den mykenska kulturen.
Indoeuropeerna (de som talade protoindoeuropeiska) emigrerade från det inre av Asien till Europa, där de mötte och hade utbyte med de ursprungliga bronsåldersfolken. De förde sin aristokratiska krigarkultur till bland annat tillGrekland, och dåtidens greker kom att präglas av den, trots att invandrarna var i minoritet.
Under 2019 har Academia Prisca givit ut en serie böcker på samma tema som Wikander med en mycket bredare täckning av de ovan berörda ämnena. Första boken i serien har liksom flera andra volymer presenteras på internet och här nedan återges delar av presentationen:
